Kenningwell United are proud to announce the introduction of Player Care.

Player Care has been created to ensure every player has someone they can turn to for support, both on and off the pitch. At Kenningwell United, we recognise that football is only one part of a player’s life, and we are committed to supporting the person behind the shirt.

We understand the realities of everyday life. Our adult players may be balancing full-time jobs, university studies and family commitments, while our younger players are navigating the pressures of school, exams and growing up in an increasingly complex world. Whatever the challenge, no player should feel they have to face it alone.

Player Care provides a safe, supportive environment where women and girls can speak openly, seek guidance and feel heard. It is a reminder that the club is here for every player, not just on match days, but throughout their personal journey as well.

At Kenningwell United, we believe football is about far more than 90 minutes on the pitch. To build better players, we must first care for the people wearing the shirt. We refuse to operate on a transactional ‘show up, play, and go home’ model. Instead, we are committed to creating a club culture that values wellbeing, compassion and community, supporting our players through every triumph and every challenge.

Kenningwell United are changing how we operate from the ground up.

At Kenningwell United, we believe football should be a place where every woman and girl feels supported, respected and empowered. That is why we are introducing a player-centred approach that prioritises wellbeing just as much as performance.

Honouring Female Health:

No woman or girl should ever feel anxious or uncomfortable playing the game they love. We are committed to breaking the silence around menstrual health by ensuring our coaches understand how the menstrual cycle can influence energy levels, recovery and performance. Most importantly, we are creating an environment where players feel safe, supported and confident to have these conversations without fear or embarrassment.

The Conversation Circle:

We are introducing regular, structured check-ins that focus on the whole person, not just the player. These conversations will explore how our players are managing their time, their mental wellbeing and life beyond football. By recognising the early signs of stress or burnout, we can provide support before it impacts their enjoyment of the game.

A Culture of Lifelong Belonging:

From the youngest girls pulling on their boots for the very first time to our senior women’s teams, we are building a pathway of care that supports every player at every stage of their journey. We are also streamlining communication to reduce digital overload while fostering an inclusive environment built on kindness, respect and belonging.

This is our promise to every player and every family.

We want Kenningwell United to be the best part of your week.

We are investing in Player Care because our women and girls are worth investing in. Whether you have been part of the Kenningwell family for years or are thinking about joining us for the very first time, know this:

At Kenningwell United, you are valued. You are heard. You are cared for.
